On Saturday, October 26, the Nazarene Seminary of the Americas celebrated its 2019 graduation ceremony. The event was held at the same time as the closing service for the «Called to Innovate» conference organized by SENDAS.

On this occasion students graduated from a variety of programs including: Diploma in Christian Ministry, Bachelor of Theology programs with an emphasis on Pastoral Ministry, Master of Science in Religion with a mention in Family Orientation and Church Development. The total number of graduates receiving their degrees was 17 including both in person at graduation and remotely.

The 2019 graduation ceremony was dedicated to Dr. Enrique Guang Tapia. Dr. Guang, originally from Ecuador, was rector of two seminaries in Guayaquil. He arrived in Costa Rica to study at the Latin American Bible Seminary in 1965 and now has more than 50 years of ministry. He was rector of what was previously known as the Nazarene University (UNAZA), now Nazarene Seminary of the Americas and later of the Evangelical University of the Americas (UNELA), where he was one of the founders. He has participated in a large number of international conferences, written articles for magazines and contributed literature of high theological value, especially in the field of psychology, his main profession. Dr. Guang has been a great friend and collaborator of SENDAS and it is an honor for this institution to have dedicated this 2019 graduation to him.

The graduation was attended by more than 200 people who were able to share together with the graduates and teachers a very special time where they had the honor of hearing the Word of God through the District Superintendent of Northern California Rev. Albert Hung. It was a night where we saw God’s hand move in different ways and call the church to an awakening. Both graduates, teachers and the general public were confronted with the need to be instruments in the hands of the Lord.
