Rev. Carlos A. Zamoran Mendoza is the pastor of a local church and also a professor of various programs and modules administrated by SENDAS. He was born in Nicaragua and moved to Costa Rica with his family 7 years ago.  He became a Christian when he was 12.

From the beginning of his journey as a Christian, God guided him along a path toward ministry giving Carlos the privilege of serving him from the time he was 15. At the age of 18, he started to feel God’s call to pastoral ministry and a year later he was already a co-pastor of the church and local NYI president.

When he was 28 he began his ministry as lead pastor, on the Central District in Nicaragua. By this time he had completed his studies in civil engineering but because of that work he was equipped with different necessary tools in order to serve the Lord as He directed him.

In that same year along with various pastors on the district they gathered to continue their theological studies, attending the first intensive summer classes promoted by SENDAS in Costa Rica. So started his theological preparation.

Pastor Zamoran says, “Since 1998 – thanks to SENDAS having begun that year to promote decentralized theological education and the intensive courses – I was able to take all of the summer courses, and in this way I was able to complete the Bachelor of Theology and Licensure in the administration of church resources. This was possible with the great help that the seminary gave us through the awarding of scholarships covering more than 50% of the cost of classes. Today after 21 years of pastoral ministry I feel a profound sense of gratitude to God for SENDAS. As an institution, SENDAS continues to partner with me in ministry through continuing education opportunities, teacher training events, and also it has given me the privilege to collaborate in theological education as an associate professor and at the same time helping me now in studies toward a master’s degree.”

Rev. Zamoran is the pastor of the Church of the Nazarene in San Isidro de Heredia where he is performing an excellent ministry. He and his wife, Maria Lidia Arcia have been happily married for 22 years and have 3 sons.
