Missionaries David and Shelley Webb have accepted an invitation from the Regional Office to help develop the Church of the Nazarene on the islands of Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao. They relocated to Willemstad January 20th and have already begun their ministry on the islands. We are deeply thankful for their ministry and service to SENDAS and Nazarene church in the southern part of Central America over the past decade.

As Shelley transitions to her new role, Rev. Carol Rittenhouse has assumed coordination of CALL (Christian Academy for Language and Learning, SENDAS’s language school) and also has taken over the role of assistant to the president in the area of Public Relations.

Also transitioning to a new role will be Dr. Jorge Baños, who has accepted the invitation from the Field Office to replace David Webb in his work as Ministries Coordinator for the country of Costa Rica. Dr. Baños has been a part of SENDAS’s leadership team for 18 years, overseeing various programs and more recently as Academic Dean.

The farewell celebration for Shelley, David and Jorge was an emotional and meaningful event with various demonstrations of recognition by colleagues and ministries of the institution.

Marco Velasco, a pastor, theologian and sociologist originally from Mexico has been named academic dean during the latest assembly of the SENDAS Association.

As we pray for the Webb and Baños families in their new assignments, we also lift up Carol and Marco in their new roles.
