On September 3, 2016 the graduation ceremony was held on the Puerto Rico West district. Dr. Ruben Fernandez, the President of the Nazarene Seminary of the Americas (SENDAS) in Costa Rica and the Coordinator of Education and Clergy Development for the Mesoamerica Region, awarded the diplomas. The Superintendent of the District, Rev. Ramon Sierra, presided over the ceremony.

This graduation is the first to be celebrated in the Puerto Rico West district under the direction of SENDAS. Six students completed their basic ministry studies receiving the Diploma in Christian Ministry: Blanca D. Campos Rios, Glenda Colon Rosa, Marta J. Gonzalez Perez, Mildred Martínez Crespo, Myrna Pérez Hernández and Jose A. Rivera Vega.

The graduation ceremony was dedicated to Rev. Frank Mastache, who pastored for more than 40 years and has contributed to theological education for more than 25 years in Puerto Rico and in the Hispanic churches in the United States.

In the same service, Dr. Jerry Porter, General Superintendent in Jurisdiction, accompanied by his wife Toni, led an emotional Ordination Service.

Friends, families and pastors were in attendance to celebrate with the graduates and ordenands in this significant moment in the life of each one. The new Superintendent of the Puerto Rico East district, Rev. Andres Hernandez, and the former Superintendents, Rev. Olga Robles, Rev. Herson Santa, and Rev. Samuel Perez, were all present.

We rejoice in the accomplishments of our brothers and sisters of Puerto Rico who are serving the Lord with joy and love.
