DSC_0493January 12, 2013 was an historic day of celebration for SENDAS students in Toa Alto, Puerto Rico.  The first graduation for the Master’s program was held in the “Island of Enchantment.”

Dr. Ruben Fernandez, President of the Nazarene Seminary of the Americas, awarded the degrees to the three students who had completed all the requirements for graduation.  The three graduates are Hellen Andujar, Fernando Mounier and Selideth Perez.

Rev. Olga Robles, the District Superintendent for the East district, Rev. Ramon Sierra, the District Superintendent for the West district and the Rev. Herson Santa, the Director of Ministerial Studies for the East District were all in attendance.

Dr. Samuel Perez, the Coordinator for the Program, had the privilege of presiding over the ceremony and placing the graduation hood, representing the graduate degree in theology, on his own daughter, Selideth, who is an Associate Pastor at the Church of the Nazarene in Levittown, Toa Baja.

Earlier this same day, Dr. Ruben Fernandez met with the church leaders to discuss the logistics of possibly offering more SENDAS programs in this beautiful Caribbean island country.
