November 24-27, 2017, in San Jose, Costa Rica, Nazarene Seminary of the Americas organized a DCPI (Dynamic Church Planting International) training as part of the annual Continuing Education program. Facilitators Drs. Mario J. Zani and Carlos Fernandez arrived in Costa Rica as representatives of DCPI which is a non-profit equipping organization for church planters. Its vision is to train leaders capable of establishing congregations with the objective to start 5 million churches around the world.

This training was attended by 19 leaders from the Church of the Nazarene among whom were 3 representatives of Nazarene Seminary including the president, Dr. Ruben Fernandez; 2 representatives of the Mesocentral Region; district superintendent of the Costa Rica Central District, Rev. Sirlene Bustos; 9 pastors and 4 district lay leaders.

Of this same group, 14 participants completed the requirements to become DCPI Trainers to reproduce the program as necessary. According to DCPI, to equip leaders and to evangelize the world for Christ is more than a mission statement. It is the vision of the Lord Jesus Christ. To plant healthy, dynamic churches that are self-supporting is one of the most effective ways to realize the Great Commission.
