For the Nazarene Seminary of the Americas it is a great pleasure to celebrate the arrival of Rev. Felipe Flores Lewis who is the new Coordinator of the ETED (studies for ordination) program and the School of Leadership (system of diversified ministry formation in the local church), for Costa Rica and Panama.

Rev. Flores has previously served as pastor, profesor of SENDAS and district superintendent in Costa Rica North and Central Panama.

SENDAS and PLNU Make Historic Agreement

In July of 2018, the Nazarene Seminary of the Americas (SENDAS) made an important agreement with Point Loma Nazarene University (PLNU) of San Diego, California.

Under this agreement, SENDAS will provide a “bridge program” which will serve the 12 districts of the United States and Canada that are part of the PLNU educational region. SENDAS hosts Encuentro CR 2018

From June 26 through July 13, 2018, Costa Rica hosted the event “Encounter 2018.” Approximately 500 adults, teens, and adolescents from the USA-Canada Region gathered for this event. SENDAS hosted the various groups who came to participate.

During the two-week event, teams were dispersed to work with different Nazarene churches in Costa Rica toward the goal of impacting local communities where Churches of the Nazarene were located.

NorCal Work & Witness Team: Youth Making a Difference

As part of the partnership formed in May of 2017, a Work & Witness Team team from the NorCal District of the Church of the Nazarene arrived to Costa Rica on Wednesday, June 13. The team would spend a week at SENDAS working on various projects. They divided their work helping with three different tasks.

From April 3-6, 2018, continuing education workshop for the teaching staff was celebrated on the campus of SENDAS in San José, Costa Rica.

SENDAS and Regional NYI celebrate Certificate in Youth Ministry Graduation in Cuba

During the months of January and February, Cuba held its District Assemblies in the East and West districts, both culminating with the graduation of students from different programs such as Diploma, Baccalaureate and Certificate in Youth Ministry.

New Church Planters are Formed at SENDAS through DCPI

November 24-27, 2017, in San Jose, Costa Rica, Nazarene Seminary of the Americas organized a DCPI (Dynamic Church Planting International) training as part of the annual Continuing Education program. Facilitators Drs. Mario J. Zani and Carlos Fernandez arrived in Costa Rica as representatives of DCPI which is a non-profit equipping organization for church planters. Its vision is to train leaders capable of establishing congregations with the objective to start 5 million churches around the world.
