First Bachelor’s in Pastoral Theology Course offered in Northern California

During the months of November and December, the first SENDAS course was held for the Northern District of California.

In response to the official invitation of the NorCal district, the Nazarene Seminary of the Americas began to offer ordination courses to the Hispanic pastors of that large geographical area in one of the largest states in the US. These courses are part of the Bachelor’s in Pastoral Theology (BTP) offered by SENDAS and are offered in a blended learning format through videoconferences & online studies.

The first course offered was “Holistic Development of the Church” by Dr. Mónica Mastronardi, who is the author of the corresponding module. The class had the participation of 17 students.

The Ministerial Education Coordinator for the NorCal District, Rev. María Luisa Santiago said: “The Holistic Development of the Church class was taught with a high level of professionalism, clarity, and quality in the material by professor Dr. Mónica Mastronardi de Fernández. The testimonies of the NorCal students evidenced that this class helped them understand the basic principles needed to formulate a strategy of holistic development of the church. Knowing the biblical and theological foundations of development allows them to establish clear guidelines for complete growth of the body of Christ today. The students were very motivated and satisfied with having received practical tools that will help them in the development of the church. We thank the Nazarene Seminary of the Americas for its contribution in the training of our pastors and leaders with theological studies.”

SENDAS plans to offer 9 BTP courses during 2019 in the NorCal district. We appreciate your prayers for the teachers and students who will participate in the courses as well as the congregations and thousands of lives that will be impacted by these pastors and leaders.
