Seminario Nazareno de Las Americas (SENDAS) and Nazarene Bible College (NBC) are pleased to announce that they have signed a Validation of Credit agreement to offer dual enrollment to SENDAS students who would like to receive their degree from SENDAS and from NBC located in Colorado Springs, CO. On June 11, 2012, Dr. Ruben Fernandez, President of SENDAS, and Dr. Harold Graves, President of NBC, signed the agreement between the two institutions. The agreement has no end date and leaves open the possibility for the addition of further programs/services in the future.
Students who are enrolled in SENDAS’ Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Theology program will be given the option to be concurrently enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts in Ministry program at NBC. Students who choose to dual enroll will graduate with degrees from both institutions: SENDAS and NBC. SENDAS students must designate at the start of their program their desire to be dually enrolled and fulfill the requirements for this status. The courses will continue to be offered at SENDAS in San Jose, at the satellite campuses affiliated with SENDAS, by videoconference and through online courses.
This partnership is based on the previous decision of the International Course of Study Advisory Committee (ICOSAC), the General Board of the Church of the Nazarene and the Board of General Superintendents who approved in February of 2010 that a course validated by ICOSAC is globally validated for ordination purposes within the denomination. Since both SENDAS and NBC have validated programs, the next step was to complete the Validation of Credit agreement between the two Institutions.
SENDAS is pleased to partner with NBC in offering an additional option to its students studying in the Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Theology program to graduate from two recognized educational institutions. NBC is happy to partner with SENDAS so that it may further fulfill its mission to prepare adults to evangelize, disciple, and minister to the world by offering classes and a degree program in Spanish.
NBC is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), a commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, as well as by the Commission of the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE), which is a member of the Council on Higher Education Accreditation, approved by the United States Department of Education.
