During the month of May, SENDAS held two graduations for the Master’s program: one in Brazil and the other in Mexico. The President of the Nazarene Seminary of the Americas, Dr. Ruben Fernandez attended the celebration in Campinas, Brazil and the Academic Vice-President and Director of Post Graduate programs, Dr. Jorge Banos attended the graduation in Mexico.
In the ceremony in Campinas, Brazil, Rev. Mauro Blauth, the pastor of the vibrant local host church, opened the ceremony with greetings and the invocation. Dr. Daniel Carlos Pereira Da Silva presented the students. Rev. Luciano Duarte Silva, Superintendent of the Sao Paulo District shared the message and then Dr. Ruben Fernandez read the graduates’ names. The national leaders received the graduates as they came forward. The graduates included Dr. Daniel Carlos Pereira da Silva, Emilia Theodoro Gomes da Silva, Ernesto Pereira Ferreira Jr., Jonas de Andrade Lenso, Jonatas Dos Santos and Marco Antonio de Almeida.
A special time of prayer and sending of the students was directed by Rasma Jakob, MS, and then the Director of the Sub Region of Brazil and Senior Pastor of the Central Church of the Nazarene in Campinas, Rev. Aguiar Valvassoura, shared a message with the graduates. Dr. Ramon Da Costa, President of the Nazarene Faculty and the Nazarene Theological Seminary of Brazil, prayed the final blessing.
A special moment occurred when Rev. Fernando Cesar de Oliveira, the District Superintendent, thanked Rasma Jakob, the Coordinator of the Educational Center of Brazil, for her excellent work, as she steps down from this assignment.
The graduation ceremony was wonderful and as always SENDAS joins with the brothers and sisters of Brazil as they celebrate this special time.
SENDAS also shared and celebrated with the Center in the South of Mexico on May 4 as they held the graduation ceremony in Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapas.
This was the first graduation in this Education Center for the Master’s of Religion program with concentration in Family Counseling, a program that began in Tuxtla in 2010. Six students received their diplomas in this ceremony. Also, one student received the diploma for Master’s of Religion with concentration in Church Mission.
Rev. Miguel Angel Ceballos, District Superintendent of the South Mexico District, along with family, friends and church members attended the graduation ceremony.
