In April of 2015, Dr. Ruben Fernandez and Dr. Jorge Baños participated in the most recent meetings of the Global Consortium of Graduate Nazarene Theological Institutions who met in Kansas City, Missouri.

The Consortium is made up of seven institutions:

Africa Nazarene University
Asia-Pacific Nazarene Theological Seminary
Nazarene Theological College of Australia and New Zealand
Nazarene Seminary of the Americas, Costa Rica
Nazarene Theological Seminary, Kansas City, MO
Korea Nazarene Univesity
Nazarene Theological College, England

The themes that have part of the discussion since the foundation’s inception include these:

–Facultly Development
–President Trainings
–Quality Control and Academic Standards, among other topics

The emphasis for this year was the Cooperation and agreements among institutions of the Consortium. In this spirit, SENDAS began discussions with various institutions to establish cooperating agreements at the postgraduate level.

Dr. Fernandez shares, “We give thanks to God, to the Nazarene Theological Seminary, and the sponsoring Foundation for this Consortium. Each year that we meet we are more blessed. At SENDAS we have had the opportunity to learn from schools with more experience who are recognized in their country. At the same time, we can offer our support to other schools in areas in which the Lord has blessed us here in Latin America. One of the things we most value is the sense of real unity that exists between the schools and the cultural sensibility of everyone around the table. It was mentioned in one of the first meetings that there was a feeling of distance, but today we can say that we are a true family.”

Next year, the Consortium meeting is being planned to take place in Costa Rica.
