SENDAS was the site of the fifth Latin American Consultation of IAPCHE from September 18-20. IAPCHE is the International Association for the Promotion of Christian Higher Education.

The theme of the event was “Disciplinary Approaches in Response to the Current Reality of Latin America.” Approximately thirty Latin American scholars came together to discuss various issues and scholarly projects on this theme, and three professors from SENDAS participated in the event: Dr. Humberto Fernando Bullon, Dr. Dorothy Bullon and Rev. Franlym Peña.

Some of the papers presented were on topics such as “Contributions of Biblical Sciences to Latin American Reality” and “Learning-Teaching with Mind, Heart, Body and Spirit: Educational Scenarios and the Need of Renewal for Christian Character Formation.”

Rev. Franlym Peña shares, “It was a very special time of reflection, hearing from different theological institutions, leaders, professionals and theologians, with the objective of responding to the principle questions and problems that exist in the region, from the viewpoint of Christian education.”

SENDAS is pleased to have provided the venue for this event where Latin American leaders in Higher Education could gather to reflect, study and plan together.
