Recently, Dr. Mark Maddix, Professor and Dean at Northwest Nazarene University (NNU) in Idaho, led workshops at SENDAS. He shared from his experiences about the necessary tools for professors to develop an online course. He also shared his ideas concerning evaluation techniques and how best to present online courses to the students. This process is important since courses involving technology are the educational trend at SENDAS.

Eric P. Werth, the Director of Online Teaching and a faculty member at NNU, was also part of the teaching team as he presented introductory workshops about the use of the educational platform Canvas which SENDAS will begin using soon.

A number of different institutions participated in this event including the following: ESEPA, UNELA, Pro Meta, Seminario Teológico Nazareno Cono Sur (STNCS) y Caribbean Nazarene College (CNC), in addition to the professors from SENDAS.

Profesor Pablo Bolanos shares his testimony: «The trainings with Dr. Maddix were so useful to show us where SENDAS can go in the future with online education. Really, it is only ourselves that will limit how far we can go. Also, Dr. Maddix showed us the advantages to using the new system for online education, which seems to be even more user-friendly for both the professors and the students».

SENDAS continues raising the bar in the field of education and with this type of training the mission will continue to be fulfilled to train with excellence the highest number possible of ministers for the extension of the Kingdom of God.
