Both the SENDAS staff and the Florida team were excited to work together in the month of March. The Florida team was comprised of 21 participants from the Tavares Church of the Nazarene and six more from various churches on the Florida district. Pam and Joel Tooley, who are no strangers to Costa Rica, led the team. They served as missionaries from 2010-2012, and they now pastor the Tavares church located near Orlando.

The team was involved in a number of projects at SENDAS including the pouring of a new sidewalk, painting residences and office buildings, preparing the Cypress trees for sale later in the year, and beginning the new road and parking lot project.

The team also painted student desks that were donated by the Costa Rica North district for the theological education center in Gavilan, a town in the Indigenous area of Costa Rica located in the Central district. These desks will be a great blessing for the students there.

In addition to construction projects at SENDAS, the team worked with The Coronado Church of the Nazarene to provide a medical clinic and children’s fair for the community. The team enjoyed handing out invitations on the streets of Coronado, playing with the children and ministering with the local church.

The team enjoyed a day off visiting Poas Volcano and La Paz Waterfall Gardens. It was a well-deserved break from the construction work.

We at SENDAS are so thankful for the servant hearts and the dedication of this team. We thank the Lord for all they contributed to SENDAS and the churches on the Central District.
