Under the theme “To Know Christ” based on the scripture Philippians 3:10, the Fourth Nazarene Global Theology Conference was held in Leesburg, Florida, USA, March 18-21, 2018.

Nearly 300 representatives attended from all of the regions in our denomination (directors, theologians from our Nazarene institutions, professors, regional directors, field directors, pastors, superintendents, lay ministers, and others) joined together for intensive dialogue over the centrality of Christ in the theological understanding and holiness message of the Church of the Nazarene.

The conference began on Sunday evening, March 18 with an opening service where General Superintendent Dr. Filimao Chambo preached. On Monday morning, General Superintendent Dr. Carla Sunberg invited participants to reflect seriously on the meaning of Christ in our times.

Additional themes of discussion during the conference were “Who do you say that I am?” Knowing and being more like Jesus Christ; “Take up your cross and follow me” Being faithful to Christ; and “As the Father has sent me so I send you” Uniting in the Mission of Jesus Christ.

Representatives from all six regions of the Church of the Nazarene presented papers addressing not only the theology of these themes but their applications to life, Christian ministry and present society.

After each plenary session, small groups gathered to continue the discussion and to go deeper into each theme.

Three professors from SENDAS were chosen by the global organizing committee to present papers as representatives of the Mesoamerica Region: Drs. Rubén Fernández and Marco Velasco, and Rev. Ramon Sierra.

The papers presented during the conference are available to all people of God (in English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese) via http://didache.nazarene.org/
